BioFandom: M*A*S*H (TV series, a little of the movie, a little of the book)
Name: Benjamin Franklin "Hawkeye" Pierce
Age: Well, as one of Aternaville's many time travelers that all depends on your perspective. January 28th, 1923 is his birthday technically he's about 84. But he was wooshed out of the eddies of time sometime around 1953 toward the end of the Korean war, so physically he's only about 30.
Physical Appearance: Hawkeye is tall 6'2, lean build. He's toned since he's been living in a war zone for the last two or three years, but he's not a body builder. Black hair, blue eyes, somewhat craggy features. (Basically, played by Alan Alda, not Donald Sutherland)
Education: High School, Pre-med Degree, Med School, and whatever 'education' the Army managed to shove into his head before shipping him off to Korea.
Occupation: M*A*S*H Doctor. Before the Army shanghaied him, he was an upcoming surgical resident.
Significant Other: Um? No one. He had a common law relationship with a nurse, but it became a victim to surgical residency and Hawk's own single mindedness on medicine.
Sexual Preference: Girls, he so loves the girls.
Character Biography:
History: Hawkeye was born and raised in the small town of Crabapple Cove, Maine. His father was a doctor and Hawkeye followed suit. The rest of the family are pretty much all fishermen or shop owners. Many a summer were spent on the boats, in med school he was often drafted to be the ships medic on a family member's boat.
Hawkeye went to pre-med and then Med school. It was in his internship that he showed a particular aptitude for surgery. He had just finished his internship and was looking toward residency when his number came up in the draft.
Soon he found himself at the MASH 4077th. There, he got into trouble, saved lives, and drank a whole lot. He also quickly became the heart of the unit. While others outranked him officially, many looked to him to help keep their sanity. He gladly obliged. The unit collectively went crazy. As Sidney Freedman psychiatrist said, "Insanity in the name of perfect sanity" In other words, stringing up the nurses underwear on a flag pole, or playing practical jokes on Frank Burns, was a way to deal with the death.
It was toward the end of the war when Capt. Pierce was coming back from working on the front at a battalion aid station and his jeep hit a land mine. When he awoke he found himself alone in a boat that he owned, a bank account and some sort of new fangled ID card that might have been a drivers license. He doesn't know how it happened, but he's kinda freaked out.</i>
Personality in seven words or less: smartass, stubborn, caring, emotional, passionate
How Others Perceive Your Character: He's one of those people that use humor and sarcasm to hide what he's thinking and feeling. Thus, that's all people really see of him.
Beliefs, Convictions, Morals: Sidney Freedman described Hawkeye thus, "Anger turned inward is depression. Anger turned sideways is Hawkeye." He's not that religious but Hawk has a deep belief in the way things SHOULD work. When they don't, Hawk reacts in interesting ways. His history at the 4077 is proof of that.
Reason(s) for Escaping to Canada: No real reason, fate just pissed on him again.
Their DHAs [Dreams, Hopes, and Aspirations] for Canada: WEll, figure out when and where he is. Get caught up on 40 some odd years of medical breakthroughs. MAybe find a way back to his time, or not, he really hasn't figured it out yet.

Anything Non-Canon that's Going Down:
M*A*S*H is one funky fandom to fight through cannon with. Basically my Hawkeye is mostly TV series with a little bit of the movie and book thrown in. Example, in the book Hawk's father is a fisherman, in the TV series, he's a doctor. Therefore, in here his dad's a doctor but the only one in a large family of fisherman.
In the books, Hawk is married with kids and cheats on his wife, in the Movie he's married with kids but doesn't cheat on his wife, in the TV show he's not married at all. I'm sticking with the TV show here.
It's a case by case basis but essentially, the TV series is gonna be cannon with random details thrown in from other M*A*S*H sources.
